Incantation Announce Polish Tour

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

Following their performance at the opening day of this year’s Neurotic Death Fest (April 29th), death metal pioneers Incantation are set to to invade Poland this spring for their first headlining run of the country. The tour runs from May 1st – May 8th and will also feature Polish black metallers Christ Agony. Incantation founder/frontman and Ibex Moon Records head honcho John McEntee issued the following statement:

“With great honor we are proud to announce that we are doing our first headlining tour of Poland. Our first time playing Poland was back in 2007 as part of the Blitzkrieg 4 Tour 2007 with the killer line up of Vader, Krisiun , Rotting Christ and my other band Funerus. This will be the first time we can play our full sent for all of our long time diehard Polish supporters, something we have been looking forward to for many years.

Poland has always been good to us. From the band’s inception back in 1989 we have always had massive support for the Polish underground, but have had lots of problems making it over there to preform for one reason or another. Finally over 20 years after the formation of the band we will do our first headlining tour. It will be great to see our old school friend along with many new fans alike.

The tour will be with the legendary Polish band Christ Agony. This is one of Poland’s greatest and most well-respected bands. Anyone that knows anything about the Polish underground black death metal scene will agree.  It will be great to play along side them every night!

We look forward to seeing all you sick Polish Incantation supporters. We have a great set list that we are working on for the tour and we can’t wait to spill our guts out for you guys every night.

Also, some of the Polish shows will be recorded (video and audio) and if the recordings quality comes out good we hope to use them for a live record and DVD sometime late this year.

With all this great Polish news I also want to say that we are also playing the Neurotic Death Fest this year and it is a absolute honor to be apart of this amazing fest. We want to thanks the promoter for including us on this awesome fest. Along side some of my personal favorite bands!  We look forward to seeing all our Dutch supporters there, it will be a kick ass time.”

In other news, Incantation drummer Kyle Severn recently debuted his gore-filled horror film Afterparty Massacre. Afterparty Massacre was written and filmed by Kyle and Horrormerch.com‘s Kristoff. The film features music and performances from Incantation and comes with a soundtrack showcasing many of death metal’s most brutal acts; including Cardiac Arrest, Gravehill, Fatalist and many more. Afterparty Massacreis one killer party with mind-blowing amounts of blood, metal and flesh! Incantation

US death metal pioneers Incantation have recently been added to the already stacked line up for this year’s Neurotic Deathfest, which runs April 29th & 30th in Tilburg, Netherlands. Drummer Kyle Severn gave the following statement:

“On behalf of myself and Incantation, we would like to announce that we have just been added to the greatest indoor European death metal fest line up that we have ever seen. Yes, I’m talking about this year’s Neurotic Deathfest in Holland. Incantation is honored to share the stage again with the almighty Autopsy, as well as the return of At The Gates, and other metal legends like Obituary, and new metallers of the 2K-era Hail Of Bullets. We plan to play a very obscure set in honor of this amazing line up and for our very supportive fans, old school and new alike. With a well rounded fest lineup bound together with leather and spikes, you will not want to miss this Incantation setlist, which is already a making in the metal history. We are riding the metal storm out with the same line up as we had this time last year when we successfully spread blasphemy across Europe during our headlining tour for the highly respected 7” EP Scapegoat with Alex Bouks (Goreaphobia, Master) guitars, Chuck Sherwood (Blood Storm) bass, John McEntee on guitar and vokills and myself skinsmans Kyle Severn on the drums….Kyle666″

Neurotic Deathfest 2011, featuring the likes of At The Gates, Autopsy, Obituary, Hate Eternal, Incantation and many more, is already shaping up to be the most brutal festival of the year. Keep checking in at www.neuroticdeathfest.com for information and updates.

Fatalist – The Depths Of Inhumanity

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

Genre: Death Metal
Label:
Ibex Moon Records

Have you ever listened to an album the first time around and went, “Damn! That’s refreshing!” only to, during the second or so listen, go “wait, now it sounds familiar… and not just because I already listened to this album,”? (yes, I’ve done that without the addition..) It’s funny because, even though you know you’ve heard the likes of The Depths Of Inhumanity before, Fatalist managed to twist enough of the core to their gory death metal whims that it really sounds like something fresh off the presses! What it sounds like this little reviewer, is like they took little bits of Obituary, Exhumed and maybe a little Autopsy and added a couple of thrash riffs with a minty fresh result. Each song starts off strong, pulling you in enough to be satisfied until the end comes with the perfect send-off into the next song, which starts off strong, pulling you in… until the album is over and you hit play again.

Overall: Down and dirty death metal with a hint of thrash and a whole lot of bloodshed! That’s The Depth’s Of Inhumanity in a nut shell.

Avulsed – Nullo (The Pleasure Of Self-Mutilation)

Monday, October 4th, 2010

Genre: Death Metal
Label:
Ibex Moon Records

Ah!!! Death metal of the most brutal variety! Wickedly fast paced drumming, wrist breaking riffing and deep, guttural from the bowels, vocals is pretty much what you get from the Madrid, Spain based death metal troupe. And while that sounds like the same ol’ shit that you hear from the likes of Obituary, Possessed or Morbid Angel, Avulsed bring a vulgarity and even an unseen force to the recording that leaves the listener addicted to the hellish configuration that is Nullo. Not content with merely hooking you on their wears, Avulsed created freakish nightmares that await the listener with the beginning of each song and cram themselves into your memory, guaranteeing that other death metal bands won’t even be able to compare… though some still do. (Over zealous, much?)

Sorry for the short review, but when an album is this ball emptyingly good, I don’t really need to say much.

Overall: A dark entity that’s been dishing out the low-end brutality for seventeen years, who’s deathly style has hit it’s peak with the release of their sixth full-length album! Buy or die, a death metal fan’s must own!
