San Francisco heathens Pale Chalice, the latest acquisition to The Flenser‘s blackened roster, have finalized the details to their debut EP, set for CD and digital release on March 8th, 2011.

Recorded at Death Midi Soundlab by Navene Koperweis (drummer for Animals as Leaders), the expansive four-song Afflicting The Dichotomy Of Trepid Creation EP captures nearly half-an-hour of this fairly new yet wholly ripened act’s honed, black metal skills, bearing more content and gritty traction than many full-length releases from the genre we’ll see released throughout the coming year.

Propagating intensely memorable yet brutal riffs, devoid of filler, the band’s lyrics are dark and abstract, with influences which range from introverted psychosis to dimensional anomalies.

The outfit that would become Pale Chalice was born as 2008 was dying off, essentially bearing three founding members: Oram Evad, Masthantric Nodrab and Baneist Nonrutin. A plethora of bassists and vocalists persisted through the years, until early 2010, when Ephemeral Domignostika (Mastery, Pandiscordian Necrogenesis, ex-Horn of Dagoth) and Grobahn Huv were added as permanent members.

While a great deal of touring from Pale Chalice is not planned for the immediate future, the band are capable of annihilating live audiences as the desire, having already provided live support locally for internationally touring acts such as Watain and Goatwhore, as well as local favorites and now lablemates Necrite since they took the act live in the Summer of 2010.

Lightning Swords of Death have been making a name for themselves for the past seven years, causing quite a stir in the underground.
Now on Metal Blade they seem poised to cause a stir in metal’s overground too, and with this album, The Extra Dimensional Wound, I think the stirring stick got bigger.
Huge sounding black metal riffs from Roskva and Menno, played with a more deathy tone and thrash feel with a severe grim coldness pervading the entire proceedings are the order of the day. Autarch’s vocals are as strong as Hell itself, with a frozen drum sound from Thrudvang. Altogether they sound something like a perverse beast made from elements of Goatwhore, Morbid Angel, and Bathory.

Italian Metal Powerhouse Scarlet Records has announced their second set of releases in the North American Market. They are Bloodshot‘s Murder the World” and The Georgian Skull‘s Mother Armageddon, Healing Apocalypse. Both releases are scheduled for release on March 8, 2011. Bloodshot‘s new effort, which will once again be released by Scarlet Records, is more vicious and aggressive than ever before, redefining brutality and combining the best elements of metal and hardcore to a perfect war machine crushing everything on its path. Bands like Full Blown Chaos, Sworn Enemy, Hatebreed, Cataract and HateSphere come to mind but yet Bloodshot experiences no difficulties in creating their own well distinctive sound, giving them an original touch in the metalcore scene nowadays. Murder The World will be once again dealing with the acts of another serial killer, Richard Ramirez! Recording sessions took place at Jonathas studio and DeStudio, with Dirk Miers (Do Or Die, Born From Pain) handling the mixing duties. Mastering took place at West West Side Music in New York City.
