Genre: Drone Metal
Label: Black Drone
Here we go. This is the kind of drone metal I’m into. This is the second disc that came from Black Drone unexpectedly, and it’s fucking great.
Not the most original in idea, but in execution Bring Me the Head of Orion are definitely a standout act. They are kind Sunn clO)))nes, but that’s okay with me. Sunn O))) kick ass, and in an area of metal that of recent date has seen a major influx of similar bands, to be able to stand out in a huge crowd is a big thing.
If you’re into crushing guitars, intense bass, and a distinct lack of percussion, all wrapped up in 20+ minute long compositions, I would definitely recommend checking out BMtHoO.
7.5 out of 10.
Bring Me the Head of Orion on MySpace.
The founder of Funeral Rain Records in January 2009 and Funeral Rain Zine in March 2009, Dustin "General Blaspheme" Ekman has been listening to rock since he can remember and metal since 1998, starting with nü-metal then quickly moving on to death, then black, then expanding onwards to what he listens to now: everything. ///
Favorite bands: Darkthrone, My Dying Bride, Cannibal Corpse, Bush. ///
Favorite album: My Dying Bride - A Line of Deathless Kings. ///
First live show: Kittie with Disturbed supporting and Shuvel opening.
