An Official Statement from Regain Records

Posted in News on February 10th, 2010 by General Blaspheme

Regain Records has made the following statement regarding their rumored banktruptcy issue”

“Due to misleading rumors being spread through God Seed’s MySpace page regarding the bankruptcy of Regain Records, we would like to clarify to all who have contacted us recently that Regain Records is not in bankruptcy.

“We would also like to make clear that the dispute that concerns Live In Grieghallen only involves Tom Cato Visnes (aka King Ov Hell), Regain Records and Entertainment AB, since a settlement with Kristian Espedal (aka Gaahl) was already reached in 2009. The legal outcome of this trial has no bearing on Regain Records nor does it influence our future in any way. It is also incorrect that Regain Records owes any unpaid royalties to Tom Cato Visnes or Kristian Espedal.

“Furthermore, Regain Records is very content with the fact that we are still working with the band GORGOROTH and the fact that we choose to support the rightful owner of the trademark, namely Roger Tiegs (aka Infernus). This has always been our main priority during the various legal proceedings which have involved GORGOROTH in one way or another.”

Headhunter D.C. – God’s Spreading Cancer

Headhunter DC - God's Spreading Cancer

Genres: Death Metal, Thrash
Label: Ibex Moon

Starting with a suitably creepy keyboard intro, God’s Spreading Cancer is a brazen beast of Brazilian Brutality.
These guys are from the same scene as Sepultura and Sarcofago, so I’ll forgive you if you leave now to go buy it before you finish reading this.
For the rest of you who stuck around to get to the end, this is fast as hell drums and guitars with a slower bass, right in the groove and rumbly as a big diesel engine.
It’s refreshing to hear this kind of death metal, due mostly because it’s not just the usual tried and true stale bullshit that so many bands are pushing right now. It’s out there, in your face, and fucking dangerous. It’s fucking DEATH METAL, the way that death metal should be.

Hateful Agony – In the Name of God

Hateful Agony - In the Name of God

Genre: Thrash
Label: Independent

Lets’ see… Kreator, Destruction, Sodom, Assassin… ahhh! Here we are! Hateful Agony and their white hot raging thrash from Germany that’s set to destroy the posers and liberate the worthy! Hateful Agony’s fourth full length album, In the Name of God is everything you’d expect straight up German thrash to be: blisteringly fast, aggressive, violent and full of mind melting solos and chest bursting thrash riffs! Every song on In the Name of God is an instant thrash metal classic! Everything from the title track and it’s overt stance on organized religion, to “Richard Took Their Breath Away”, a song dedicated to Richard “The Nightstalker” Ramirez and the hell he raised in the mid 80′s, to opener “Son Of Sam”, (do you see a pattern here?) and it’s blitzkrieg-like attack of hellish choruses, light speed beats and roaring vocals! What more can I honestly say about In the Name of God that hasn’t already been said a thousand times about all German thrash? It’s awesome! It’s fast! It’s a thrashin’ good time!

Gama Bomb - Tales From The Grave In Space

Genre: Thrash
Label: Earache Records

I’ve said it before, I might say it again. I love it when bands make my job easy. And Jesus jumped up Christ on a stick did Gama Bomb make this review easy.
First up, the album is FREE. Legally. From the band themselves and their label as well. Download it here.
Second up, take all the thrash you have right now, and I mean all the vinyl, CDs, tapes, shit even your patches and jackets, and put them in the closet. You’re not gonna need that stuff or at least six months. This is all you’ll need for your thrashtastic pleasures. It’s a thrashrection. It’s a thrashjaculation. It’s perfect.
