Guerra Total/Eternal Drak Split Update

Guerra Total/Eternal Drak Split CD Cover 1

As I type this the GUERRA TOTAL/ETERNAL DRAK split disc is less than a month to go until it’s released. February 16th, 2010 is the scheduled release date, and until then you can pre-order it at the handsome price of $10 USD. There is a button below to pre-order.

The CD is 666% Pure Columbian Thrash, as I’ve been marketing it, and it’s indeed thrash as hell, with nice shades of black metal. E-MetalSpace gave it a 9.5 out of 10, which made me happy as hell. The review can be found here, too, just click in the tags below.

When the pre-sale is over, the price will go up to $12, so get your order in now to save some cash.

Thanks to Tristan, who has discovered that the PayPal buttons are not working. I’ve tried a couple things out, but until I can get them to function properly again, use the email address

funeralrainrecords@hotmail.com

to send payments. Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience.

PTAHIL Recruit New Members; Begin Work On Full-Length

Posted in News on January 19th, 2010 by General Blaspheme

Indiana black metal force PTAHIL — now featuring recently recruited guitarist/vocalist Nacht (Hordes Of The Lunar Eclipse; ex-Typhus; ex-Balor) and bassist/vocalist Luathca (Hordes Of The Lunar Eclipse; ex-Fog) alongside founding drummer Mhaghnuis  – have started writing their full-length follow-up to the very limited, Ortus MCD, tentatively titled Codex Lucifer. The trio plan to perform a few select rituals to support the new release, scheduled for a late 2010/early 2011 street date.

Stygian – Fury Rising

Stygian - Fury Rising

Genres: Hard Rock, Heavy Metal
Label: Mortal Music

If the opening riff to this CD doesn’t remind you of Zakk Wylde and make you pump you’re fist, you’re an inanimate corpse.
Stygian are blending an old school hard rock that juuuuust crosses into the metal sound with this album. Think early 90′s Metallica (without the suck) crossed with Throwing Copper by Live and the aforementioned Zakk Wylde.
It’s really cool, and I’m liking it lots. Heavy as hell too, not just hard. A whiskey drinking album, if I’ve ever heard one.
8 out of 10.

001101100 – Ghastly Interface With the Astral Dominion

001101100 - Ghastly Interface With the Astral Dominion

Genre: Dark Ambient
Label: Independent

Weird. This disc is an odd trip through some seriously dark territory. Or, I should say TERRORtory.
Dark ambient sounds mixed with brainwave synchronizer theta waves which helps with the terrors. Apparently, if you use stereo headphones and listen to this disc, the theta waves “can put the listener into [a] state of depression, solitude, meditation, paranoia.” And so naturally I listened to the music through headphones.
And yeah, I definitely felt a little uncomfortable, especially in the first song, “Loading Cognitive Architecture”.
So, if you’re into dark ambient and you don’t mind possibly driving yourself insane, check out Ghastly Interface With the Astral Dominion. You won’t regret it.
7 out of 10.
